JOIN THE FACEBOOK EVENT
Join Susan Simensky Bietila, a Milwaukee-based artist activist, for a 2-day community making experience honoring the 50th anniversary of Earth Day while also celebrating the “Fossil Fools” theme of this year’s FOOLmoon and FestiFOOLs parade! Participants will each make a “wildly” creative hat in the shape of an animal, fish, or creature of their choice. Participants are encouraged to proudly wear their hat to the events. These hats will showcase our vision for a world where we have ensured the sustainability of our environment for all creatures by successfully curbing greenhouse gas emissions, and using renewable energy sources to address climate change.
Please plan to arrive on-time the first day of the workshop to be present for the initial instructions. This project may take the entire two days, although some participants may finish sooner. No experience is necessary and dress for a mess. All materials will be provided except for lights, which are optional. If you choose to add lights to your hat, you may bring your own from home or purchase a string of fairy lights or puck lights at the workshop for $5 (cash only.) Thank you to our partners Barnes ACE Hardware and WonderFool Productions!
For lunch, you are welcome to bring your own or enjoy the many wonderful restaurants that surround the Art Center in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor.
Susan is hosted by Ward 3/4 Issues & Action
