Looking to make a card that stands out from the bunch? Try making a swivel card! All the supplies you need can be found in one of our A2AC Art Boxes.
Supplies
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Pencil/pen/markers
- Metal fastener
Option 1: The Ladybug
STEP 1
Cut out two identical circles, one with red paper and one with white paper. To create a perfect circle, try tracing a round object, like a bowl, a planter, or a cup.
STEP 2
Cut your red circle in half. To cut it perfectly down the middle, fold your circle in half and cut along the fold line. These will be the wings of your ladybug.
STEP 3
Cut out two small hinge points along the top corners of your wings. This is where you will connect the wings to the body of your bug. You will need to trim the wings slightly to make these hinges.
STEP 4
With black paper, cut out a head and smaller circles for the wings.
STEP 5
Glue the black circles onto the wings. Glue the head to the backside of the white circle.
STEP 6
Using a metal fastener, attach the wings (at the hinge points) to the top of the white circle, right below where you glued the head.
Option 2: The Watermelon
STEP 1
With green, white, and pink paper, cut out three half circles. The green should be the largest, the white should be slightly smaller, and the pink should be the smallest. For help with this, use various sized, round objects as tracers.
STEP 2
Fasten your half circles atop each other using a metal fastener. The green paper should be on the bottom, the white in the middle, and the pink on top.
STEP 3
Add teardrop shapes to your pink layer to make watermelon seeds. You can draw these on, or cut and glue them, whichever you prefer.
All that’s left is to write a sweet message on the inside, and then your swivel card is ready to be sent!
