We are honored to be one of the winners of the 2021 Golden Paintbrush Awards for A2AC Murals and our ArtBox program.
It would not have been possible to receive this level of recognition within Ann Arbor if it weren’t for our community. Over 350 of you (individuals, businesses, and foundations) recognized the need and stepped up to fill downtown with color and provide art supplies and projects to youth, teens, and families — the impact of your generosity is wide-reaching, thank you.
A special thank you to Larry and Lucie Nisson and the Art in Public Committee members for their dedication and passion for supporting the visual arts in such a vibrant and visible way and helping to install the 14 murals of the A2AC Murals program. Another special thank you to the Herrick Foundation, Anne Cooper, Doug, and Sabrina Gross. Their initial contributions to the ArtBox: Outreach program enabled us to launch the program and has spurred the creation and distribution of over 4,300 boxes of art supplies to youth, teens, and families throughout Southeast Michigan.
The Public Art Commission is inviting residents of Ann Arbor to vote for their favorite work of art of the four winners. The most voted piece will be recognized as the Golden Paintbrush Community Voice Selection. Voting will close on Friday, March 11. To vote, visit here.
