Payton is one of our very own drawing and painting instructors whose work has also been featured in our gallery. Originally hailing from a small town in North Carolina, Payton earned her BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in Painting from the University of North Carolina in Asheville. Her artistic process involves a sharp attention to fine detail and exploring the nuances of texture through painting and drawing.
Payton will also be taking on the role of lead instructor for our brand new youth drawing program in partnership with the Ann Arbor District Library. This program will be open to students aged 5 to 12 who are looking to learn more about the basics of drawing. Each session will be crafted to reflect its own unique theme and will explore a variety of mediums and subjects. These classes are free and require no pre-registration to participate. We are excited about Payton and this partnership with the Library!
