Jeremy Wheeler’s Soft Collections
Exhibition On-view: March 9 – 28, 2023
Opening Reception: Friday, March 17, from 5-8 pm
About the Exhibition
Jeremy Wheeler picked up watercolors at the pandemic’s start and hasn’t looked back since. This work is a departure from his previous explorations of rock ‘n’ roll poster art and small press comics but influenced by the same humble beginnings in video and record stores and as a film writer for over a dozen years. Soft Collections features collections of thematic pop art that appeal to the artist and whose prices are approachable for his peers and first-time art collectors.

Jeremy Wheeler is a mid-career artist in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Known for his bright, dynamic work in pop art posters, graphic design, cartooning, album art, and event promotion, Wheeler turned soft during the pandemic and learned to paint watercolors. From Jim Henson nostalgia to The Beatles, Hollywood, and politics, the new work may look different but is still very much from the same once-video and record store clerk, movie reviewer, and DJ. Currently, Wheeler is the Marketing Manager of the A2AC (The Ann Arbor Art Center), the third oldest arts institution in Michigan.
