ABOUT THE ARTIST
Annie is a Cincinnati based artist, illustrator, designer, and teacher.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati in 2015, and has been displaying art publicly for over 15 years. Her current work focuses on painting imaginative scenes with crisp line work, getting lost in meditative details. She is grateful to be able to continue her artistic journey in Ann Arbor, creating public works celebrating the city’s native plants and animals that everyone can enjoy.
ABOUT THE MURAL
“With these two planters, I wanted to celebrate the native wetland plants and animals of Ann Arbor.”
“The Pickerel Frog and Purple Lovegrass are paired on one planter; The Spotted Turtle and Cinnamon Fern are paired on the other. Smaller animals like frogs and turtles can easily get overlooked when thinking of reasons to conserve wildlife habitats, as can native plants. I wanted to bring these species to the streets of Ann Arbor to remind people of all of the beautiful colors and various forms of life that can be found right in their backyard.”
