About the exhibition
Drawing Worlds: The Art of Comics and Beyond offers a glimpse into the studio practice of comic and graphic novel artists and writers participating in this year’s Ann Arbor District Library’s A2CAF (Comic Arts Festival). Featuring 18 artists working at various stages in their careers, Drawing Worlds brings together process and concept sketches, original inked posters and page spreads, finished books, and short animation.
This show is in partnership with the AADL’s A2CAF event.

Join us for Quick Draw! featuring live drawing by Southeast MI artists, including those from the Drawing Worlds show as well as pop-up vendor Athenaeum Comic Art. Grab a drink from our friends at the Beer Grotto, watch the artists in action, peruse Athenaeum Comic Art’s original collection, and participate in one of the gallery’s collaborative projects.
