A photograph captures a fleeting moment in time. Among the visual arts, only photography can instantly capture that fleeting moment and the spontaneous feeling of that moment. I believe that to see an image to capture in a photograph is an unconscious process.  My most compelling photographs are those in which the image comes to me.

The essence of my photography is to see the moment, to respond emotionally to what I see,  and then to use my eyes, my camera  and my technical knowledge so that others can see and experience what I have seen and experienced.  It requires two people to make a photograph, the photographer and the person who with whom the photograph is shared.
