Remembering the Days

Exhibition Gallery:
June 18-August 8, 2010 |
In celebration of Martha Keller's long and distinguished career, the Ann Arbor Art Center presents, "Martha Rock Keller: Remembering the Days." The exhibition will include nearly 60 works from various periods in the artist's life, and highlight her strength of vision as an artist, teacher, and writer. Born in 1926, Martha Keller's evolution as an artist continues to this day. Her artistic practice is grounded in the concept of "art as experience," and is inspired by nature, the body, and the movements of yoga and tai chi. An insatiable appetite for new information and inspiration, as well as a certain open-ness to experience ensures that she never stops growing and innovating. The Art Center has been fortunate enough to play a role in Martha's journey for many years, and is now honored to present this exploration of her 50-year-long career to the public. OPENING RECEPTION: Friday June 18, 2010, 6 - 8 pm ARTIST TALK: Sunday June 20, 2010, 3 - 4 pm
