Memory, Time, and Private Spaces is a group exhibition featuring the current work of Carolyn Reed Barritt, Cathy Jacobs and Christine Bruxvoort. Twenty-four works of art are presented, including paintings, drawings, and video installations. Drawing on their own observations, memories, and dreams, the collective body of work reflects each artist’s desire to invite viewers into an intimate world.
The exhibition includes the energetic oil paintings of Cathy Jacobs, whose brightly colored, figurative work harbors mysterious undertones; Carolyn Reed Barritt’s quiet works on paper that reveal imaginary portraits and melancholy still lifes with a limited palette; and the sculptural video installations of Christine Bruxvoort that intimately investigate the delicate phase between puberty and adulthood.
Please join us for a gallery talk at the Art Center on Saturday, February 9 from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
