The Ann Arbor Art Center is proud to present the works of renowned artist and long-time Art Center instructor Janet Kohler at our Annex Gallery located in the Community Space at annarbor.com , 301 E. Liberty (at the corner of Fifth Avenue). Open to public Monday-Friday from 9:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. I
Janet’s pastels and oils have been exhibited nationally and internationally and are included in many corporate and private collections. She has received many honors and awards, and most recently was published in the third of a series of drawing books: Stroke of Genius 3-The Best of Drawing. Janet exhibits locally with the Ann Arbor Area Pastelists, is a Board member for the Great Lakes Pastel Society and a member of the Michigan Plein Air Painters.
Janet received her BFA from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, Mi and her MFA from Eastern Michigan University. She teaches figure drawing and painting, color mixing with pastels and Plein-Air painting classes through the Ann Arbor Art Center. She has taught numerous workshops in Pastel & Landscape Painting; Drawing at Washtenaw Community College, Drawing the Figure workshops at the University of Michigan Museum of Art and pastel painting workshops at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Interlochen, MI and Crooked Tree Art Center in Petoskey, MI.
