“In my opinion one of the greatest gifts the Ann Arbor Art Center offers is the ability to move with the community throughout their various stages of life.”

Fanny Russell pict“In my opinion one of the greatest gifts the Ann Arbor Art Center offers is the ability to move with the community throughout thier various stages of life. I originally volunteered because of events (Winefest specifically). It was a great way to meet new people and share common interests. My husband and I have been returning members, customers in the gift shop, and contributors to various programs. In the future I look forward to taking classes myself and sharing the arts with our son.”

“Let’s go for the next 100!”

“I had an opportunity to be an artist for one afternoon a week at the the Art Center! I took a beginning painting course - we experimented with various media and it was most enjoyable. I also appreciate shopping at the Gallery Shop. IB Remsen pots are a usual purchase there, usually for wedding gifts. Thanks to the Ann Arbor Art Center for bringing art to the community and community to art for 100 years — let’s go for the next 100!”

“The Art Center’s service to the community is amazingly broad.”

Cheryl Elliot pic“The Art Center has really touched my life in many ways. I first volunteered in the mid-80’s with others of the Junior League supporting the Art Van Gogh program. I’ve always been impressed with their outreach programs–through the Community Foundation we’ve funded the StartWork program and many others. The Center’s service to the community is amazingly broad–classes, programs, exhibits, great shopping, and of course, Winefest. They collaborate in human services programs with other organizations, and provide a vocal leadership for the arts. They’ve proven their ability to serve, grow and change with the times–for 100 years!”

“I absolutely believe in the value of the arts for everyone.”

Cattran-Cindy“I really did enjoy my time on the Board at the Art Center. I haven’t got an artistic bone in my body (unless you count food presentations!) so it was always fascinating for me to see what the members and students were turning out. I really enjoyed seeing the educational programs for the little kids, and absolutely believe in the value of the arts for everyone, even if I’m a certified non-artist.”

“I wish all involved in maintaining the gallery, the classes, and the friendly atmosphere much continued success.”

Greenfield pic“I have always been lucky to live downtown within walking distance of this wonderful cultural center. I always look forward to seeing the creative work of new and familiar artists. My daughter, Julie, who lives in Beverly Hills, MI is a fiber artist who has had the opportunity to show her dolls at the Art Center. I wish all involved in maintaining the gallery, the classes, and the friendly atmosphere much continued success.”
